The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a stern warning to apprehend former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, and present him before the Federal High Court in Abuja to face charges against him.

Despite Bello’s legal representative, Abdulwahab Muhammed, SAN, declining to accept the service on behalf of his client, who is evading the EFCC, the anti-graft agency remains resolute.

During a session at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, the EFCC, represented by a team of lawyers led by Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, emphasized its determination to execute the arrest warrant against the ex-governor, even if it requires the use of force.

agency cited the legal provision allowing for the arrest of an evading defendant, asserting that immunity only applies to individuals, not physical structures.

Section 284 of the law permits the use of necessary means, including involving the military if necessary, to ensure compliance with legal processes.
