Popular Nigerian pastor and founder of Abel Damina Ministries International, Dr. Abel Damina, has faced criticism for his recent comments on overcoming porn addiction.
Damina’s remarks were made during an appearance on Comfort FM’s Righteous Invasion of Truth (RIOT) program in Uyo in late February.
In the clip that circulated widely on Thursday, Damina was asked for advice on how to stop and eliminate porn addiction entirely.
His response advised individuals not to struggle to stop watching porn but instead to continue watching while simultaneously listening to the word of God.

According to Damina, individuals should spend more time hearing the word of God for every hour spent watching porn.
He suggested that by immersing oneself in God’s word, the appetite for porn would diminish over time, eventually leading to a complete disinterest in it.
However, Damina’s advice has been met with disagreement, particularly from conservative Christians on social media who believe that the pastor was encouraging people, especially addicts, to sin.
Prominent pastors such as Gideon Odoma of the Fortress Ministry and Chris Oyakhilome have spoken out against pornography, labeling it as a sin that should be avoided completely.
They emphasized that indulging in pornography is contrary to biblical teachings and should be abstained from entirely.
Despite some endorsements of Damina’s advice, particularly from individuals who claim to have struggled with porn addiction themselves, many others have criticized his stance, stating that it contradicts biblical principles.
They argue that the Bible teaches fleeing from sin, not indulging in it while seeking spiritual growth.
Damina, who is also the CEO of Kingdom Life Network (KLN) and Senior Pastor of Power City International, hosts various Christian programs on television and radio platforms.
