Bandits have kidnapped the village head of Rakyabu in Zamfara State, Magaji Sa’idu, along with the Chief Imam, Malam Abdullahi.
The abduction took place on Sunday night, and the bandits demanded a N5 million ransom.
The community managed to raise only N500,000, which the bandits collected but refused to release the abducted individuals.
A resident, Amadu Mohammed, shared the challenges faced by the families in raising the ransom. Despite an appeal fund raising N500,000, the bandits insisted on the remaining N4.5 million.

The community is struggling to meet the demand, and concerns are growing for the safety of the kidnapped individuals.
As of now, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, has not provided a comment on the situation.
