On Friday, a tragic accident occurred at the Alapere-Ogudu axis in Lagos, resulting in the death of an unidentified woman when a fully loaded 40-foot Mack articulated truck fell on her Nissan car.
Fortunately, the driver of the car, with registration number ABJ 692 BG, escaped unhurt, assisted by Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officials at the scene.
According to Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, the truck driver and his motor-boy fled the scene immediately after the accident, which preliminary investigations attributed to brake failure causing the truck to lose control at high speed and collide with the moving Nissan car.

Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, the LASTMA General Manager, emphasized the importance of vehicle maintenance and responsible driving, urging truck drivers and motorists in general to avoid speeding and conduct thorough checks on their vehicles before embarking on journeys within or outside the state.
