On the 29th of December 2023, a tragic incident unfolded in Ogun State as an unidentified woman lost her life after being crushed by a truck allegedly belonging to the Dangote group.
The unfortunate incident took place at Dalemo-Ota along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in a statement released on Friday, reported that the woman was standing by the roadside when the Dangote truck, identified with the mark XA354WDP, collided with her.
According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for FRSC in Ogun, the crash occurred around 23:00 hours on Thursday night, involving the Dangote truck.

Two individuals, one adult male and the unfortunate adult female, were involved in the accident.
Okpe stated, “The suspected cause of the fatal crash was excessive speed and mechanical fault (brake failure) of the Dangote truck, which later hit a female adult standing by the roadside, and she died on the spot.”
The victim’s body has been taken to the Ifo General Hospital morgue.
The Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, emphasized the importance of drivers conducting routine checks on their vehicles, ensuring the effectiveness of the braking systems before hitting the road. Uga extended condolences to the family of the deceased in the wake of the tragic incident.
