A peculiar own goal by Alphonse Areola, 20 minutes into the second half, briefly put Liverpool in front, but Michail Antonio’s goal in the 77th minute restored parity for West Ham.
With just one point gained from the match, Liverpool currently sits third in the table with 75 points, trailing defending champions Manchester City by one point, who have two games in hand.
Arsenal, the league leaders, are two points ahead of Liverpool and have a match in hand.
