Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) news anchor Aisha Bello Mustapha has passed away.
The news of the veteran broadcaster’s death was announced in the early hours of Monday, and she reportedly succumbed to a brief illness in Abuja.
Aisha Bello Mustapha was a well-known figure on the local television network during the 1990s and 2000s.
The sad news of her demise was confirmed by a family friend, Zainab Sabo, who stated that the veteran journalist would be laid to rest according to Islamic rites later in the day.

Zainab Sabo said, “The funeral prayer will take place at Abuja Central Mosque on Monday.
Mama (Aisha) is indeed dead, and we are going to miss her, and we pray God bless her soul,” as reported by BBC Pidgin.
Details regarding the cause of her death remain unknown at this time.
Aisha Bello Mustapha retired from active service in May 2022, concluding a remarkable 35-year-long career in the broadcast industry.
