The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, has expressed optimism that efforts by elders in the academic community will soon unite the divided ranks of academic staff members in Nigerian universities.

Speaking at a leadership retreat organized by FUOYE’s Division of Student’s Affairs in Ede, Osun State, Fasina emphasized the need for diplomacy over confrontation in addressing issues within the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

He suggested that ASUU has likely learned valuable lessons from the division that led to the formation of the Congress of Nigerian University Academics (CONUA).
