Tributes poured in on social media as the late singer Mohbad would have turned 28 today.
Nigerian celebrities and fans commemorated the artist, who passed away at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023.
Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Records owned by Naira Marley, left the label to establish his own, named ‘Imolenization.’
The circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death led to a police investigation, and an autopsy was conducted after his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023.
The autopsy results have yet to be officially released. A nurse who allegedly injected Mohbad before his demise was arrested.

On the occasion of what would have been Mohbad’s 28th birthday, celebrities and fans took to social media to express their love, share memories, and call for justice. Notable figures, including Big Brother Naija’s former housemate Tasha, musicians Bella Shmurda and Bad Boy Timz, and popular music executive Dami Adenuga, posted tributes and messages of remembrance.
Some expressed frustration over the delay in releasing Mohbad’s autopsy results and the prolonged retention of his body.
In November 2023, the Lagos police stated that they had not received the autopsy report officially and emphasized the need for the singer’s family lawyer to request the release of the results.
The calls for justice and transparency in the handling of Mohbad’s case continued on social media, with fans demanding answers and a dignified funeral arrangement for the late artist.
