A tragic incident unfolded in Ikorodu, Lagos State, where a 32-year-old female marketing employee of a bank, Amarachi Ugochukwu, took her own life by consuming insecticide within the bank’s premises.

The distressing event occurred on Monday, around 1 pm, when Ugochukwu entered the restroom and ingested the insecticide, unbeknownst to her colleagues.

Concern arose among the staff when her phone kept ringing on her table, and she was nowhere to be found.

After a search, Ugochukwu was discovered lifeless in the restroom, holding the bottle of insecticide alongside a suicide note.

In the note, she attributed her decision to the harsh economic conditions, expressing despair about her life, low figures, clouded mind, wrong decisions, and the worsening economic situation.
