On Wednesday, the National Troupe unveiled a large portrait of President Bola Tinubu at Eagles Square during the 2024 Democracy Day celebration parade.

This event marked the presentation of what is claimed to be the world’s largest painting portrait on canvas.

The unveiling, which was a highlight of the Democracy Day celebrations, saw the attendance of numerous dignitaries and citizens.

The project was a collaborative effort initiated by the Artefact Gallery, Best Theatre Company, and the National Council for Arts and Culture.

In related news, President Tinubu experienced a minor slip during the event, which has drawn varied reactions from the public. A presidential aide downplayed the incident, referring to it as a “mild misstep.”

Additionally, former members of the House of Representatives have urged President Tinubu not to let the heroes of democracy die in penury, highlighting the importance of honoring those who have contributed significantly to the nation’s democratic journey.

The portrait unveiling not only celebrated Democracy Day but also showcased the artistic talent and cultural heritage of Nigeria.
