Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has raised concerns about the prolonged occupation of schools in the Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area by terrorists for five years without being dislodged.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program on Tuesday, Governor Mutfwang criticized the federal government for what he perceived as a lack of political will to eradicate the presence of marauding terrorists in the state.

Expressing urgency in addressing the situation, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the need to halt the ongoing violence, stating that security forces must transition from a reactive to a proactive strategy.

He revealed the gravity of the situation, stating, “As I am talking to you today, in Barkin-Ladi Local Government, schools have been occupied by these terrorists for some years now.

Not less than 64 communities have been displaced, and the lands have been taken over by these marauding terrorists.”

The governor’s comments come in the wake of a recent attack in the state on Monday, resulting in the tragic death of 86 individuals and the destruction of 221 houses.
