Acknowledging Oshoala’s contribution, the club posted, “Our African World Heritage Day match shot by Asisat Oshoala.” Oshoala reposted the images, expressing her enjoyment of photography with hashtags #LoveTheCamera and #ShotsByZee.

Her involvement in the event stemmed from her absence from the match-day squad, demonstrating her impact off the field. Inspired by Oshoala’s photos, Nigerian photojournalist Sulaimon Adebayo, known as Pooja, humorously suggested that FIFA had accredited Oshoala to cover Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.

Oshoala responded with the Yoruba word “oluya,” a playful remark often used for amateur photographers.
