In a statement personally signed and released to the media in Ibadan, Oyo State capital on Friday, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, expressed his willingness to address banditry and other criminal activities in the South West region, provided he receives support from traditional rulers, security agencies, and other stakeholders.
Responding to the invitations extended to him by traditional rulers such as the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Owa Ajero of Ijero Ekiti, Oba Joseph Adewole, during a security summit in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Igboho stated his readiness to collaborate with them in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property.
During the security summit, where Oba Ogunwusi and Oba Adewolu suggested the need for Igboho’s involvement in addressing the growing insecurity in Yorubaland, Igboho was contacted via zoom to share his perspectives on measures to tackle the threats posed by banditry, killer herdsmen, and kidnapping in the South West.

Expressing his commitment to checking insecurity, Igboho emphasized the importance of receiving support from relevant security agencies, Yoruba monarchs, and other stakeholders in restoring peace and tranquility in all parts of the South West, especially in agrarian communities.
He highlighted the adverse effects of insecurity on farming activities, including the displacement of farmers and the destruction of farmlands, which have led to food shortages and inflation in the prices of foodstuffs.
Igboho stressed the need to create a conducive environment for farming activities to boost socioeconomic growth in the region.
In his pledge to address the situation, Igboho emphasized the importance of flushing out criminal elements occupying forests and using them as bases for launching attacks, asserting his readiness to support efforts aimed at restoring peace and security in Yorubaland.
