A tragic incident occurred in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Saturday, as two individuals lost their lives in a collision involving a truck and a motorcycle along the Ore-Okitipupa Expressway in the Idi Mango area.

According to sources, the accident was reportedly caused by the recklessness of the motorcyclist.

The motorcycle slipped and collided with the truck traveling in the opposite direction, resulting in the fatalities.

Regrettably, the two victims, who were siblings, succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the truck fled the scene out of fear of being attacked by onlookers.

Confirming the incident, Mr. Ezekiel Son’Allah, the State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, attributed the accident to wrong overtaking and violations of speed limits.

He stated, “Two people died in the accident, and it was a result of wrong overtaking and speed limit violation.”

The bodies of the victims were deposited at the mortuary of the General Hospital in Ore, while the vehicles involved were handed over to the Nigerian Police Force, Ore Division, for further investigation.

This tragic incident underscores the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and exercising caution on the roads to prevent such avoidable accidents.
