Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, made an unscheduled visit to a road construction site in Okpoko communities of Ogbaru Local Government Area, where he promptly terminated the contract awarded to NBHH Engineering Company due to negligence and delays.
Expressing his disappointment, Governor Soludo emphasized the company’s failure to deliver the nine roads totaling 14.053 km within the stipulated time frame.
He criticized the contractor for the significant delay, noting that the project was supposed to be completed by June of the previous year.

Addressing the project supervisor, Governor Soludo highlighted the company’s incapacity to fulfill its obligations despite being adequately mobilized and paid 59 percent of the mobilization fee.
He asserted that the contractor’s incompetence was evident, leading to the immediate termination of the contract.
Governor Soludo instructed the contractor to remove its equipment and belongings from the site, affirming that the state government would seek another contractor to complete the project promptly.
The terminated road projects in Okpoko include various routes such as Obodoukwu – Owerri Road, Ogbuagu-Ik Onuora-Anumudu-Mgbuka Amazu -Owerri Road, Edeh Road-School Road-Awalite- Ojoto -Owerri Road, among others, totaling 14.053 km.
This decisive action by Governor Soludo underscores his administration’s commitment to ensuring timely and efficient execution of infrastructural projects for the benefit of Anambra State residents.
