President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone has expressed his appreciation for the outgoing Nigerian High Commissioner, Ambassador Henry Omaku.
During a courtesy visit by Omaku to formally notify the President of his departure after completing his tour of duty, President Bio acknowledged the envoy’s contributions to advancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
President Bio expressed sadness at Omaku’s departure and noted the diplomatic vacuum he would leave behind.
He hoped that Omaku’s successor would build on his achievements.

Omaku, in turn, thanked the Sierra Leonean citizens for their harmonious coexistence with the approximately 3,000 registered Nigerians in the country.
The diplomat, who also holds a traditional title in Nasarawa State, Nigeria, emphasized the importance of love and respect among Nigerians and called for support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ambassador Omaku was assigned to Sierra Leone in 2020 by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
