The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the establishment of more than 200 mobile courts nationwide to prosecute traffic violators during the Easter special patrol operations. This announcement was made in a statement released on Wednesday by the corps Public Education Officer, Jonas Agwu.

Agwu stated that the deployment of these mobile courts is aimed at ensuring a safe and smooth Easter celebration in 2024. The Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, emphasized the importance of maximum visibility by commanding officers and prompt removal of obstructions on all highways across the country.

The special patrol operations are scheduled to run from March 29 to April 2, 2024, with the primary objectives being the reduction of road traffic crashes, fatalities, and injuries. Biu urged full compliance with operational guidelines to achieve these objectives.

Aggressive enforcement measures will be implemented, including the operation of over 200 mobile courts to address various traffic offenses such as speeding, dangerous driving, lane indiscipline, road obstructions, phone usage while driving, and overloading.

Furthermore, the FRSC disclosed the deployment of 743 patrol vehicles, 184 administrative vehicles, and 92 ambulances across the country for the Easter special patrol.
