Prince Abdulfatai Adeyemi, popularly known as D-Gov and the son of the late Alaafin of Oyo, has passed away in the early hours of Friday, a day before his 47th birthday.
The cause of his death is reported to be complications from diabetes, and he breathed his last at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Prince Abdulfatai Adeyemi had been battling illness for a while. Despite his health challenges, he aspired for the Oyo Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in 2019.

However, he lost the election to his brother, Akeem Adeyemi, also known as Skimeh, who secured re-election for a second term.
During Seyi Makinde’s first term as the governor of Oyo State, Prince Abdulfatai Adeyemi was appointed as the Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pension Board.
The news of his death comes as a shock, and it was reported that he had been ill for an extended period.
A palace source, who chose to remain anonymous, confirmed the demise and expressed sorrow over the loss, especially on the day that Prince Abdulfatai’s brother, Akeem Adeyemi, was celebrating his birthday.
