Street-pop artist Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has released a new song following his recent arrest by the Lagos State Police Command over an unpaid debt related to the purchase of a G-Wagon.
In the song, Portable advises his followers to go into debt, suggesting that debtors never wish for the death of those who owe them.
He implies that taking on debt is a mark of the rich and asserts that he will always escape death to pay off his debts.
Portable, who calls himself “Spider Man” in his new release, had paid only N13 million for the vehicle, which was worth N27 million, and allegedly refused to pay the remaining N14 million balance.
He was released on bail by the Lagos State police on Thursday after spending a night in custody.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Portable shared a snippet of his new song titled “Spider Man.”
The track, produced by 2tuponthebeat, highlights his agility and ability to overcome obstacles, referencing how he evaded arrest by jumping over a gate.
Portable has a history of releasing music in response to legal issues.
Previously, he released the track “I’m Not A Prisoner” after being arrested in 2023 for failing to honor several police invitations.
When asked if Portable had resolved his current issues, a police spokesman said, “I have no idea about it but what I can say is that he has been granted bail.”
The ‘Zazzu’ crooner was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly refusing to pay the debt he incurred when purchasing a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 from Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos), a car dealer in Lagos.
The Lagos State Police Command had earlier stated that Portable would remain in detention until he could produce a reliable surety.
During the period, the Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin said, “He has presented no reliable surety yet, so he (Portable) is still with us.”
A signed letter of undertaking by Portable surfaced online, indicating that he still owes N14 million of the N27 million for the G-Wagon.
Additionally, voice recordings of the auto dealer contacting Portable were made public.
The dealer asked Portable to return the vehicle or pay the outstanding amount, but Portable refused, citing defects with the vehicle.
According to the agreement, the dealer has the authority to reclaim the car without compensating Portable if he doesn’t comply.
Before his arrest, a video of Portable attempting to evade capture went viral on social media.
He was seen scaling a fence to escape the police but was eventually apprehended by the officers and taken to the police station, where he remained after failing to meet the bail conditions.
