The Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended two suspects, Hassan Ismaila and Mohammed Sani, in connection with the death of a relative, Sani, who reportedly died of starvation.

The suspects allegedly tied Sani’s hands and legs, accusing him of witchcraft, and kept him in a room until his demise.

The incident came to light on November 30, 2023, leading to the prompt action of the police.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Shettima Mohammed, revealed the details during a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Lafia on Monday.

The police acted on credible information, and officers from ‘A’ Division, Lafia, swiftly arrested Hassan Ismaila and Mohammed Sani.

The police are currently working to apprehend all individuals involved in the alleged witchcraft-related death.

In another disturbing case, the police paraded Habu Yusuf, who stands accused of raping a five-year-old girl in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.

The suspect, who had reportedly assaulted two other young girls in the past, was arrested after careful efforts by law enforcement.

According to the acting CP, Justina Samuel filed a complaint with Nasarawa Eggon Division, stating that her five-year-old daughter had been sexually molested by Habu Yusuf.

The suspect, residing in Egbukumu Area, Nasarawa Eggon, was subsequently arrested.

Investigations revealed that Habu Yusuf had previously assaulted two children, aged eight and ten, belonging to his elder brother.

The suspect has confessed to the crimes, and further investigations are underway.

The Nasarawa State Police Command expressed its commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and holding the perpetrators accountable for their actions.
