Philip Dasun, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, has officially defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Dasun, who previously served as the majority leader of the Plateau State House of Assembly and was known to be an ally of former Governor Simon Lalong, announced his decision to switch parties in a letter addressed to his Belnin Ward chairman of the APC in Pankshin North.
In the letter released to media on Monday, dated May 13, 2024, Dasun cited alignment of ideologies as the primary reason for his defection to the PDP.

He expressed gratitude to the APC for the opportunities and experiences he gained during his tenure with the party, acknowledging the support and guidance he received from its members.
Dasun emphasized that his decision to resign from the APC and join the PDP stemmed from a shift in his political views and goals.
He believed that the PDP’s values and objectives were more closely aligned with his own, and he expressed confidence in his ability to make a significant impact by working within the PDP.
While conveying his resignation, Dasun extended well wishes to his former party and expressed hope for its success in future endeavors.
He concluded the letter by affirming his commitment to his new political affiliation with the PDP.
