The pupils of Police Children School, Eleweran, Abeokuta, Ogun State, were filled with excitement as Ambassador (Dr.) Babatunde Adeyemo, CEO of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, handed out branded school bags.

The real estate magnate had pledged the donation during the school’s end-of-year prize-giving day and passing-out parade ceremony on July 30, where he served as the event’s Chairman.

The promise came after the pupils’ impressive cultural dance performance, which captivated parents, teachers, and guests alike.

True to his word, Adeyemo presented the school bags at a ceremony held on Wednesday, coordinated by the headteacher, Mrs. Oluwa Modinat Folashade.

Adeyemo highlighted that this gesture was aimed at encouraging the students to embrace their rich African heritage and strive for excellence in their academics.

He emphasized the importance of instilling positive attitudes and values in children during their formative years to shape a brighter future for Nigeria.

He also expressed his ongoing commitment to supporting the school and encouraged the management to reach out if they encounter any challenges where he could assist.

Earlier, Adeyemo called on well-meaning Nigerians to support the development of Nigeria Police Children Schools, both in infrastructure and manpower, to ensure a conducive learning environment.

He noted that such support would not only benefit the students but also motivate police personnel to continue safeguarding lives and property.

Drawing from his personal experiences, Adeyemo reassured the youth that it is possible to succeed in Nigeria without resorting to corrupt practices or the urge to “japa” (emigrate).

He underscored the importance of integrity, trust, and hard work, especially during a child’s developmental years, between ages 0 and 9, when they are most curious and learn quickly.

“I always seize the opportunity to remind Nigerian youth that success is achievable here without cutting corners or having a tarnished record. It is crucial to motivate young people to follow the path of honor and integrity for genuine success,” he said.

In response, Mrs. Folashade expressed gratitude to Adeyemo for his generosity, including the financial support previously provided to the school during the graduation ceremony.
