The acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, extended warm greetings to Muslims as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr in 2024.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Sokoto and signed by his Senior Special Assistant, Yusuf Dingyadi, Damagun urged Muslims to imbibe the lessons of virtue, compassion, and brotherhood learned during Ramadan into their daily lives.

He emphasized the importance of continued prayers for the progress and stability of the nation.

Furthermore, Damagun advised against engaging in criminal activities and encouraged the faithful to uphold societal values. He also called on parents and guardians to fulfill their responsibilities towards their children and wards.

Reflecting on the significance of Ramadan as a holy month, Damagun stressed the importance of showing compassion towards the less privileged and seeking guidance, forgiveness, and blessings from Almighty God through fasting and prayers.

He urged Nigerians to unite and foster trust, confidence, and respect among one another through reconciliation, forgiveness, and support, emphasizing the need for political unity and progress beyond differences.

Damagun reiterated the PDP’s congratulations to the Muslim community and prayed for divine intervention to alleviate the suffering caused by poor leadership and political challenges.

He emphasized the importance of solidarity and goodwill in addressing insecurity challenges, particularly banditry, and other threats affecting the nation.
