On Tuesday, the Oyo State government opened a portal for the recruitment of 7,000 teachers for public primary schools in the state.
The portal will require each candidate to register with their email, phone number, and National Identification Number, among other details, to match them with suitable positions as teachers or caregivers.
Dr. Nureni Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, announced to the press that the portal would go live at 6 pm on Tuesday.
Applicants will have to visit https://subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng/ to apply.

Adeniran in his speech stated that this recruitment effort is part of the state government’s initiative to reduce unemployment among its citizens.
“The government of Oyo State aims to expand job opportunities in the basic education sector and for those interested in working as caregivers,” Adeniran said. “Education is a major pillar of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration. We are committed to creating an inclusive government that utilizes the valuable potential within the state, which is why we are hiring new primary school teachers.”
