Voters in Oyo State are eagerly awaiting the official results of the local government poll held on Saturday. The process of collating the votes cast in the 33 local government areas is currently underway.
Despite a peaceful atmosphere, there was a notably low turnout of voters.
Voting commenced in some polling units after a delay caused by the late arrival of poll materials to certain locations.

Governor Seyi Makinde cast his vote at Polling Unit One, Ward 11 in the Ibadan North East Local Government Area.
Chairman of the Senate Electoral Matters Committee, Sharafadeen Alli, expressed dissatisfaction with the State Independent Electoral Commission’s (SIEC) preparedness for the poll.
He raised concerns about the delayed arrival of electoral materials at some polling centers.
