Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has lauded the Dangote Refinery, asserting that it will play a crucial role in ensuring energy security in Nigeria.

Otedola expressed his congratulations to Aliko Dangote, referring to him as his “bestie,” on the commencement of production at the refinery.

On his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Otedola stated, “By meeting our requirements for all refined petroleum products, it will champion energy security and independence for our nation and act as a catalyst for a new era of prosperity for the subcontinent. It promises economic transformation for Nigerians today and for generations to come.”

Otedola extended his heartfelt congratulations to Aliko Dangote and referred to the Dangote Petrochemical Complex as the “8th Wonder of the World.”

He highlighted the significance of the refinery, which includes the world’s largest single-train 650,000 barrels per day Petroleum Refinery, a 1 million metric tonnes of Polypropylene per-annum facility, and two of the world’s largest Fertilizer Trains.

According to Otedola, the refinery is more than an industrial milestone; it represents visionary leadership, relentless pursuit of excellence, and environmental sustainability.

He commended Dangote’s efforts over the past decade, stating, “This refinery is a beacon of hope for millions of Nigerians and Africans.”

Otedola provided insights into the refinery’s environmental impact, mentioning its carbon capture technologies, storage processes, and commitment to reducing CO2 emissions.

He also highlighted the refinery’s focus on environmental sustainability, water recirculation, power generation, and the production of Euro 5 to replace lower-quality fuel.

Dangote Refinery, which recently received its first one million barrels of crude oil, is a significant project with the capacity to process 650,000 barrels per day when at full capacity.

It is expected to contribute to Nigeria’s energy security and economic development.
