The head of the OPEC oil cartel, Haitham Al Ghais, emphasized on Saturday that there is no “single solution” to the energy transition amid growing pressure for a phase-out of fossil fuels at the COP28 climate talks in Dubai.
Al Ghais, the Secretary-General of OPEC, addressed the UN meeting and called for realistic approaches to tackle emissions, emphasizing the need for solutions that enable economic growth, poverty eradication, and increased resilience simultaneously.
