The Ondo State Police Command announced on Friday that it had arrested two individuals in connection with the alleged killing of a socialite, Oladoyinbo Sunday, whose lifeless body was discovered within Ijapo Estate, Akure, on December 10, 2023.
According to the statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, the suspects were apprehended through intelligence gathering by the state command.
One of the suspects, Atinuke Adeniyi, aged 29, claimed to have been romantically involved with the deceased and revealed that they were together at a brothel in Ijapo on the day before the body was found.

Atinuke reported that after a romantic encounter, the deceased began convulsing, and out of fear, she abandoned him and left the room.
Atinuke led the police to the brothel, where the owner, Adeojo Ilesanmi, aged 50, was arrested.
Ilesanmi confessed to driving the deceased’s body to the location where it was discovered in his brothel, citing fear as the reason for his actions.
The investigation is still ongoing, and the suspects will be charged in court after the completion of the investigation, according to Odunlami.
In a related development, an Ondo Court sentenced a man, Abayomi Joseph, to death on November 28, 2023, for killing his neighbor.
Additionally, on January 3, the state police command arrested Lezibi Usman for allegedly killing a man, Olatunji Sunday, in Ikare Akoko.
Usman, a driver, reportedly lost control and rammed his vehicle into a group of youths holding a carnival along the road.
