Tragedy struck on the Ijebu Ode-Ibadan Road in Ogun State as two individuals lost their lives and one sustained injuries in a lone auto crash on Sunday evening.

The accident occurred at the Idofin axis of the road and involved a car carrying three occupants.

Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesman of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), attributed the accident primarily to the excessive speed of the car’s driver.

He explained that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and crash into the bush, ultimately colliding with a tree.

Unfortunately, both the driver and another occupant of the car succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident.

The injured occupant was promptly taken to the Ijebu Igbo General Hospital for medical treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were retrieved by their respective families.
