The Ogun State Police Command convened a meeting with representatives from various filling stations in the state to address the fuel scarcity crisis and alleviate the inconvenience faced by people due to long queues, which commenced earlier this week.
The meeting, held on Monday, included major fuel stations such as Mobil, M. Olaoluwa, Gateway, MRS, A.A. Rano, Teejay, and Optima Energy.
This initiative comes amidst the nationwide scarcity of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, resulting in congested fuel stations across urban areas.

According to Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, the gathering adhered to the directives of Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, in response to the ongoing fuel crisis.
Participants were instructed to maintain order, prevent traffic obstruction, discourage indiscriminate parking, avoid chaos, and ensure security during fuel sales.
The partnership aims to forestall potential violence arising from overcrowding, as seen in recent incidents.
Notably, a shooting incident involving Toheeb Eniasa occurred at a petrol station in Lagos, reportedly sparked by a disagreement over queue discipline. Eniasa tragically lost his life in the altercation.
To prevent such incidents, the Ogun State Police Command provided Divisional Police Officers’ contacts to fuel station representatives for prompt intervention when needed.
This collaborative effort seeks to mitigate tensions and maintain orderliness amid the fuel scarcity crisis.
