Ogun State has been identified as one of the states in Nigeria where customers enjoy consistent power supply.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has categorized customers into different bands based on the number of hours of electricity supply they receive daily.

Band A subscribers enjoy 20-24 hours of electricity supply, Band B subscribers receive 16-20 hours, Band C subscribers receive 12-16 hours, Band D subscribers receive 8-12 hours, and Band E subscribers receive 4-8 hours daily.

NERC has approved an increase in electricity tariff for Band A customers, with the Vice Chairman, Musliu Oseni, stating that they will now pay N225 per kilowatt hour (KW/h) as opposed to the previous N66.

Bloomberg reported that power companies will be allowed to raise electricity prices to N200 per KW/h from N68 for urban consumers, aiming to attract new investment and reduce the $2.3 billion spent on tariff capping.

In documents prepared by NERC as of February 2024, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, and Kwara states’ subscribers under the Band A tariff plan are benefiting from 20 to 24 hours of electricity supply daily.

For instance:

In Ogun State:

1.Ijebu Industrial areas enjoy between 116KW/h and 249KW/h.
2.Olumo and Sagamu areas receive between 131KW/h and 415KW/h.
3.Sango areas receive between 156KW/h and 332KW/h.
