A neighbourhood dispute took a tragic turn on Saturday in the Itele Awori area of Ogun State as Monday Ogbole allegedly killed his neighbour, Murtala Jimoh, during a violent confrontation.
The police have since arrested the suspect.
The cause of the dispute leading to the fatal altercation remains unknown as of the time of reporting.
According to a police source, Ogbole attacked Jimoh with a stick during the fight. Efforts by other neighbours to intervene and separate the two were unsuccessful.

Witnesses reported that, realizing he was losing the fight, Ogbole retreated into his compound.
Observers believed the confrontation had come to an end, but to their shock, Ogbole reappeared wielding a heavy stick.
Without warning, Ogbole allegedly struck Jimoh on the head, causing him to fall backward with blood flowing from the injured area.
The victim was swiftly rushed to a nearby hospital, but he reportedly died en route to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, where he had been referred.
Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, stated that the suspect had been arrested.
She added that once preliminary investigations were completed, the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.
Omolola assured the victim’s family that justice would be served, and an autopsy would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
The deceased’s body has been deposited at the Ota General Hospital morgue.
