Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has given approval for the immediate reactivation of all eight farm settlements across the state.
This initiative aims to enhance food production within the state.
In an exclusive interview with the state Agriculture and Food Security Commissioner, Honorable Bolu Owotomo, the reactivation process is expected to be completed within the next two months.
The farm settlements will be equipped with processing and storage facilities to support dry season farming and year-round agricultural activities.

Owotomo further explained that each farm settlement will specialize in various agricultural activities, including poultry farming, cassava cultivation, and the production of other food and cash crops.
The facilities will be tailored to the specific needs of each settlement to ensure optimal performance.
To assess the requirements of the farm settlements, a team of consultants has been visiting them to evaluate their equipment, infrastructure, and road networks.
The commissioner also assured that internal and link roads within the settlements would undergo rehabilitation to facilitate the smooth transportation of agricultural products.
It is projected that all eight farm settlements will be fully reactivated within a year, contributing to the state’s efforts to enhance food security and agricultural productivity.
