The Lead Pastor of Victory Life Bible Church, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, shared heartfelt reflections on Thursday about his late wife, Rev. Fola Achudume, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3rd.

During a condolence visit from members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun Council, led by Chairman Wale Olanrenwaju, Apostle Achudume expressed how deeply he misses his wife.

He spoke of their 32 years together, emphasizing that she had completed her life’s journey and had “slept in God.”

He firmly stated that there was no negative influence in her death, acknowledging her as someone who lived a fulfilled life, doing what she was called to do.

“I am missing my wife. We have been together for 32 years. My wife slept in God. There is no devil in my wife’s death. She has finished her race. I am proud of my wife for doing what she was called to do.

I never for one day stopped her from doing what she wanted to do. She was fulfilled.

She lived well and died peacefully. I was with her when she died,” Pastor Achudume shared.

He highlighted Rev. Fola’s passion for women’s well-being, particularly her commitment to helping women build good homes.

She organized programs for secondary school girls to instill moral values and did the same for boys. Rev. Fola was also known for her work in transforming the lives of women involved in prostitution, bringing them to the church, and empowering them.

“My wife will be missed,” Pastor Achudume added.

In his remarks, Pastor Achudume appreciated the NUJ for their visit, noting that his late wife had a special passion for journalists.

He recalled the challenging period of crisis within Ogun NUJ and acknowledged how many of the peaceful resolutions he facilitated with union leaders were guided by his wife behind the scenes.

“NUJ has always been partners with VLBC. You play strategic roles in the nation. You are a beacon of hope to the masses, a voice for the voiceless,” he said.

Pastor Achudume also shared that the burial ceremony for Rev. Fola Achudume is scheduled for August 21st and August 22nd.

In response, NUJ Chairman Wale Olanrenwaju described the late Rev. Fola as a woman of virtue who devoted her life to serving both humanity and God.

He acknowledged her as a pillar of support for journalists in the state and a steadfast advocate for women.

“She was a coach, marriage counselor, teacher, preacher, and epitome of humility. Her character while alive should be emulated by other women in society. We pray that you live long, sir. We commiserate with you and assure you that your wife is with the Lord. God will keep the home, be with the children, and be with the church,” Olanrenwaju said.

He also assured that the union would be ready to participate in the burial arrangements.
