The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has criticized the Federal Government’s plans to unbundle the power sector, particularly the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), for total privatization.
The NLC President, Joe Ajaero, expressed concern that the restructuring plans could pose a significant threat to the power sector and might lead to the TCN’s eventual takeover by individuals connected to the ruling elite.

Ajaero questioned the government’s motives and warned that similar strategies had failed in the past, resulting in negative consequences for the sector.
The NLC urged the government to reconsider and emphasized the need to learn from past mistakes.
