Numerous Nigerian X users are delighting in the posts from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after the football governing body showcased its recognition of Nigerian football stars in local languages.

CAF joined a global celebration of Victor Osimhen, Asisat Oshoala, and Chiamaka Nnadozie, who were crowned the best players and goalkeeper in Africa.

Osimhen clinched the African Footballer of The Year title, overcoming strong contenders Achraf Hakimi from Morocco and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, while Oshoala secured the top prize in the women’s category.

Nnadozie emerged as the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of The Year for 2023.

For Oshoala, it was a record-extending sixth award, and for Nnadozie, it marked her first.

In their celebration of these achievements and the success of the Super Falcons, CAF took to their official X handle and posted tweets in Yoruba, Igbo, and Pidgin languages.

One of the tweets in Yoruba read, “Mo so fun yin o #CAFAwards2023,” while another in Pidgin stated, “Naija full ground, Naija gather dey, Naija no dey carry last!”

Responding to the multilingual tweets, users on X expressed their appreciation.
