A Nigerian nurse working in the United Kingdom has reportedly been dismissed from her position after offering prayers for an elderly patient, according to claims by online doctor Harvey Olufunmilayo.

The incident, shared via social media, raises questions about the intersection of religious practices and professional responsibilities in the healthcare sector.

The nurse, who remains unidentified, was said to have been employed as a caregiver for elderly patients through an agency.

Allegedly, she was reported for “praying for the client to get better,” resulting in her termination and subsequent deportation.

Olufunmilayo, in his online post, warned Nigerian healthcare workers in the UK against engaging in religious practices with patients.

The online doctor highlighted the perceived breach of trust and misuse of professional positions when health workers incorporate personal religious activities into their duties.

While the authenticity of the claim is yet to be verified, the incident, if true, emphasizes the importance of understanding cultural and professional norms in a foreign work environment.
