The Nigerian Army has announced plans to conduct a comprehensive evaluation and review of ongoing operational engagements in all theatres of operations across the country’s six geo-political zones.
The aim is to make decisions that will effectively address the security challenges facing the nation.
The review is set to take place during the Chief of Army Staff’s conference scheduled to be held in Maiduguri from December 10 to 16.
According to the Director of Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Nwachukwu Onyema, the conference will provide the Nigerian Army with valuable insights to make result-oriented decisions in addressing multifaceted security challenges.

The annual event is considered significant for national security, peace, and stability.
The week-long conference will also serve as an opportunity for the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, to interact directly with General Officers Commanding, Field Commanders, and other senior officers.
This interaction aims to provide guidance for enhancing Nigerian Army operations and activities.
The opening ceremony, scheduled for December 11, 2023, will be graced by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Tinubu, as the Special Guest of Honour.
The ceremony will include an address to troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, inspection of the ongoing Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Maiduguri, and the laying of the foundation stone of Headquarters 7 Division by the Special Guest of Honour.
