The Nigeria national football team, also known as the Super Eagles, secured a 2-1 victory over the Ghana national team in an international friendly match held on Saturday, March 22.

The match saw goals from Cyriel Dessers and Ademola Lookman for Nigeria, while Jordan Ayew scored a penalty for Ghana.

The game was not without drama, as Ghana played with 10 men after defender Jerome Opoku was sent off early in the second half.

Despite Ghana’s late penalty conversion by Ayew, Nigeria held on to secure the win.

The match showcased Nigeria’s strength ahead of their upcoming fixtures, including a friendly against Mali and the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Both teams fielded strong lineups, with notable absences and inclusions on both sides.

Nigeria’s Premier League star Alex Iwobi played a crucial role in the victory, while Ghana missed the presence of key players like Thomas Partey.

The victory for Nigeria provides a boost as they continue their preparations for future competitions, while Ghana will look to regroup under new coach Otto Addo following the defeat.
