The Niger State Government has allocated N976 million for Ramadan feeding across the eight emirate councils in the state.

In a statement released on Friday by the Commissioner for Information, Binta Mamman, it was revealed that assorted grains have been procured for distribution to various beneficiaries including all 25 local government areas, emirate councils, religious leaders, security agencies, political parties, and other institutions in the state.

Each local government will receive 7,079 bags of assorted grains, consisting of 10kg and 25kg bags of rice, maize, millet, sorghum, and beans.

Additionally, Bida, Kontagora, and Suleja LGAs will each receive 14,000 bags, while Chanchaga LGA will receive the highest allocation of 21,000 bags.

The total expenditure for Ramadan feeding in the state is projected to be N976 million.

Mamman emphasized the importance of fairness in the distribution and coordination of the palliatives and Ramadan feeding, urging all responsible parties to carry out their tasks with integrity.
