It’s disheartening to hear about the abduction of Jethro Onose, a Senior Secondary School student of the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, NNSS, Imeri in Ondo state, along with his father, Maliki Onose.

According to reports, the father and son were abducted by suspected gunmen while traveling along the Edo and Ondo road highway on Monday.

The victims were reportedly on their way back to school after the holidays when their vehicle was attacked by the gunmen.

Despite the father’s attempt to comply, the kidnappers forcefully took them into the thick forest.

It’s distressing to imagine the ordeal they must be going through, especially considering they were simply on their way back to resume school activities.

The fact that the father managed to inform his family members of their situation and even sent a picture from the forest highlights the harrowing nature of their abduction.

However, it’s heartening to know that efforts are underway to rescue them. Local villagers have organized search teams, including local hunters, to assist in locating and rescuing the victims.

Additionally, the state Police spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami, has confirmed the incident and assured that efforts are being made to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and the apprehension of the perpetrators.

Our thoughts are with Jethro Onose, his father, and their family during this difficult time. We hope for their swift and safe return home.
