Arrangements have been completed for the establishment of a division of the National Industrial Court in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
The court will be operational from a designated courtroom at the State Judicial Complex in Isabo, Abeokuta.
The President of the National Industrial Court, Justice Bakwaph Kanyip, made this announcement while formally receiving the donation of the courtroom from the Ogun State Chief Judge, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, in Abeokuta.
Justice Kanyip disclosed that one of the judges from the Lagos Division would be temporarily assigned to the newly established Abeokuta Judicial Division of the court.

The judge will commute from Lagos to Abeokuta for a week within a month until the court provides a residential accommodation in Abeokuta.
The President of the National Industrial Court emphasized that the donated courtroom would undergo renovation and be equipped with necessary tools.
This initiative aims to alleviate the burden on lawyers and litigants from Ogun State, sparing them the ordeal of traveling to Lagos for labor-related cases.
In response, the Ogun State Chief Judge stated that the donation of the courtroom is intended to strengthen the administration of labor justice in the state and promote the timely dispensation of justice on industrial-related issues.
