Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has emphasized the distinction between the current situation facing their National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and the events that led to the removal of the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC) from the party’s secretariat.
Speaking on Arise TV on Thursday, Morka clarified that likening Ganduje’s current predicament to Oshiomhole’s removal is inaccurate.
He pointed out that the circumstances surrounding each situation are fundamentally different.
SavingPointMedia reports that Oshiomhole and the members of the NWC were elected for a four-year term at a national convention in Abuja, but their tenure was cut short after two years.
This dissolution was alleged by a former acting chairman of the APC, Ntufam Eta, to be aimed at thwarting the presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu, who is now the president.

In March 2020, a Federal High Court in the Federal Capital Territory ordered Oshiomhole to step aside following an application for an interlocutory injunction seeking his removal as APC national chairman.
Justice Danlami Senchi ruled that Oshiomhole should remain suspended pending the determination of the suit, criticizing the party for keeping him in office after his suspension by the state APC chapter in November 2019.
Regarding the concerns about Ganduje’s potential suspension, Morka stressed that the situations are dissimilar.
He highlighted that unlike in Oshiomhole’s case, those advocating for Ganduje’s suspension are not recognized members of the party.
Morka stated, “No, it is not familiar if you understand the facts of what happened to Oshiomhole. They are incomparable. They are two different things altogether. In the case of Oshiomhole when he was the national chairman, the individuals who were involved in that effort to suspend him and take all the actions within the party were officials of the party.”
He further added, “The difference here is that we have pure imposters announcing the suspension of our national chairman and they had gone to court to attempt to affirm that same illegal and criminal act. So I just want to make sure that that is clear that these individuals are not authorized and not acting foreign on behalf of the ward. They need to stop because when the dust settles; there will be consequences for this sort of behaviour.”
