Mr. Olumide Openaike, a staff member of a Microfinance bank in Kemta Oloko, Abeokuta, who had been missing since Wednesday, January 17, has been located in Mokwa, Niger State.

The discovery was made known by his wife, Temitope, who also works at a microfinance bank in Onikolobo, Abeokuta.

Temitope expressed her joy at finding her husband, stating that he contacted her on Tuesday afternoon from Mokwa, where he had been taken by abductors who confiscated his phone.

He borrowed a phone from a resident, and upon learning of his location, the family arranged and sent transportation money to him.

Olumide arrived in Ibadan on Wednesday, where he spent the night. Family members awaited his return in Abeokuta, scheduled for today.

Earlier, on Sunday, Temitope had informed the public about her husband’s disappearance.

A viral WhatsApp message had spread the news, describing Olumide as a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Strong Tower Zonal Headquarters, Ogun Province 28.

The missing banker’s sudden absence prompted concerns among friends and family, with the WhatsApp message seeking assistance in locating him.

The Ogun State Police Command had been informed of the situation, and the spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident earlier in the week.

She assured that the police were actively involved in the case, spreading the message to raise awareness and facilitate Olumide’s safe return to his family.
