The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris-Malagi, expressed optimism that the 2024 budget of N27.5 trillion, recently presented by President Bola Tinubu, will usher in a transformative era in Nigeria upon its passage by the National Assembly.

Speaking at the Kaduna State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations 2023 Annual Public Lecture/AGM/Awards & Election, the minister highlighted the significance of the budget in realizing Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He emphasized its alignment with national development objectives and the administration’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and prudent financial management.

The minister acknowledged President Tinubu’s actions, including the signing of a supplementary budget, approval of landmark bills, and inauguration of initiatives in fiscal policy reform, Compressed Natural Gas, Food Security, and MSME support.

These measures aim to deliver relief to Nigerians and establish a foundation for lasting prosperity.

Idris-Malagi underscored the inclusivity pillar of Tinubu’s eight-point agenda, emphasizing the importance of policies benefiting all segments of the population, especially youth and women.

While recognizing progress in appointments and representation, the minister emphasized the need for continuous improvement and assured that President Tinubu would persist in advancing inclusivity.

He also pledged support for the development of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, particularly in establishing a permanent secretariat for the Kaduna Chapter.

Idris-Malagi reiterated his commitment to fostering transparent public communication that provides citizens with accurate, timely, and useful information, recognizing NIPR as a valuable partner in this mission.
