Law enforcement authorities have initiated a manhunt for armed kidnappers responsible for the abduction of seven passengers near Fidiwo Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The assailants, who carried out the attack last Monday, not only abducted the victims but also fatally shot one traveler and injured another during the incident.
The gunmen subsequently transported the kidnapped individuals into the forest. Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, confirmed that responding police units were able to rescue one of the abductees, identified as 43-year-old Kasali Adegoroye.
He has since been reunited with his family.

According to Odutola, the State Police Commissioner has issued orders for law enforcement officers to comb the forests in the vicinity, aiming to rescue the remaining six individuals still in the custody of the gunmen.
Information from one of the intercepted vehicles revealed that there were 15 assailants dressed in military uniforms.
The Sagamu Interchange-Ibadan axis of the expressway has witnessed a resurgence in kidnapping incidents in recent weeks, with criminals targeting individuals for ransom.
The police are actively working to address and curb these criminal activities in the region.
