Christopher Yaro, a suspected kidnapper who had been evading authorities after fleeing from Pankshin in Plateau State, has been apprehended in Ogun State.

Yaro is alleged to have been involved in the abduction of two Catholic priests, Fathers Kenneth Kanwa and Jude Nwachukwu, from Saint Vincent de Paul Fier Catholic Church in Pankshin.

The priests were kidnapped on February 1, and a ransom of N25 million was demanded for their release.

According to Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, they received information on Monday regarding Yaro’s presence in the state.

Subsequently, he was tracked down first in Ijebu Ode before being arrested in Ago Iwoye on Monday.

The arrest marks a significant development in the case of the abducted priests and highlights the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in apprehending criminal suspects across state boundaries.
