Manchester United are actively pursuing Victor Osimhen, reportedly preparing a player-plus-cash deal for the 25-year-old Napoli striker.

The Nigerian forward has attracted interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and PSG. However, CalcioNapoli24 reports that Manchester United remains a strong contender.

United have proposed a deal involving cash and striker Rasmus Hojlund for Osimhen. It remains to be seen if Napoli will accept the offer. Hojlund, who joined United last season, had an impressive debut campaign in England. The Danish international is considered a prodigious talent with significant potential, making it surprising if United sanctions his departure.

Napoli is open to selling Osimhen this summer, despite him being their top scorer for the past two seasons, including the Scudetto-winning 2022/23 campaign.

Osimhen, having proven himself in Italian football, might seek to challenge himself in another league, with the Premier League being a potential destination. After extending his contract with Napoli, his release clause was set between €120m and €130m.

However, this amount has deterred potential buyers, prompting Napoli to lower his asking price to €100m.

Despite interest from Chelsea, United, and PSG, no official approach has been made, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Napoli also rejected a more than €200m offer from a Saudi Arabian team last summer.

Signed from Lille in 2020 for around €75m, Osimhen has established himself as one of the most exciting strikers in world football.
