The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has reported the arrest of Shuaibu Yushau for attempted suicide after he climbed a broadcast mast owned by Aso Television and Radio in Abuja‘s Katampe area.
Yushau who had been observing the mast for about a week before deciding to climb it scaled the mast on Monday as a protest against insecurity and hardships in the country.

In a statement titled “Aso Radio Mast climbing: Man arrested for attempted suicide,” the FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, disclosed that Yushau confessed to having observed the mast for about a week before deciding to climb it.
Prompted by a distress call from concerned citizens, police operatives swiftly responded and successfully persuaded Yushau from carrying out his suicide attempt.
Adeh further stated, “The suspect is presently in police custody and in stable condition.”
